easter

we spent easter with the kauffman side at barry & lynne and grandpa's house. the highlight for mattie was an egg hunt around the lake. we realized that we hid the eggs pretty far apart... mattie often had to be guided to the next one instead of spotting it herself. but this way, each egg was a surprise! she enjoyed watching her collection grow in the basket. she didn't know there was anything hidden inside the eggs until we got back to the house - more surprises!

looking out at the lake with daddy - it was a beautiful spring day

she does look an awful lot like her daddy - big grin and blue, blue eyes!

this yellow hat was given to mattie that morning at church by katie immel's daugther, mallory

one of the first eggs mattie found, with gramma's help

grampa lending a helping hand

"oh, look!"

the wind kept blowing mattie's hat off

thanks for the cute outfit, uncle jason & aunt lisa!

hunting eggs was a family affair

mattie got tired before we made it the whole way around the lake

this egg was in a nest

picture time!

opening the eggs - marshmallows and stickers. the marshmallows were her favorite - should've guessed that one!

her very own chocolate bunny from gramma & grampa. she promptly bit off the ears!

opening up another easter gift - a boz DVD, which has been a big hit!

trip to florida - march 2010

these are pictures from our trip to visit cloyce & nancy in florida at the end of march. we had a great time - warm weather, lots of good food (including ice cream!) and quality time with the family. :) grandma & grandpa graciously offered to watch mattie one evening so glenn and i could go on a date. we cruised the town in a mustang convertible owned by one of cloyce & nancy's neighbors at bahia vista estates - awesome!

we weren't sure what it would be like traveling by airplane with a toddler...but mattie did surprisingly well. she watched DVDs, ate lots of snacks, and entertained fellow travelers by running up and down the aisles a few times. :) on the way home, she even got a foot rub from a professional massage therapist!

here are the pics...

we went on a short walk around the park on our first night there. mattie wanted to give the baby doll AND the stroller a ride.

grandma drying mattie's hair. i thought she might be scared of the dryer, but she seemed to like it!

cruising in the mustang. glenn was in his element!

looking sharp, cloyce!

date night with hubby

we stopped in the parking lot of chipotle that evening to talk, and glenn couldn't resist snapping a few shots of the scenery

playing with daddy at the beach. siesta key beach has the softest, most beautiful sand.

the girls, looking pretty. i look so white next to nancy!

we met joe graber and family for ice cream one evening

it was difficult to keep mattie away from this attractive display of sweets!
